FLAK debuts a new body of work by Andrew Jensdotter and marks a turning point in the artist’s career. Jensdotter has created works that emphasize fragmentation, concealment, and exposure, transferring his spray-painted compositions from plastic to canvas, as well as creating paintings using his signature technique of carving through hundreds of layers of paint.

Andrew Jensdotter was born in 1976 in Logan, Utah. He completed his MFA at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2014. He lives and works in Denver and Edwards, Colorado.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Street parking is limited. The garage directly across 15th Street is $5 after 4PM. The museum is walking distance from Union Station and the 16th Street Free Mall Ride. Please don't drive if you plan on drinking.

What if I'm really thirsty before the event?

We have happy hour in the cafe from 5–7PM. We recommend you grab a drink before the talk begins.

Can I check out the galleries and cafe after the talk?

Unfortunately, the galleries will close at 7PM when the talk begins. The good news is the talk will take place in the cafe, so no need to chug your beverage. We recommend checking out the galleries beforehand (especially Andrew Jensdotter: FLAK), and you can also bring back your Artist Talk ticket for free admission to the museum within a month after the talk.
