Call 720-845-5413 extension 28 to hear this dream.

You stand on a corner, handing out flyers for a rug store called RUGS RUGS RUGS to passer-bys. The flyer advertises a big sale at RUGS RUGS RUGS. A judge comes walking down the street, dressed in her judge’s robe & carrying a gavel. You hand the judge a flyer. She takes it, stops & reads it. Is this for Rugs Rugs Rugs, right up the street? she says. You say it is. Her eyes squint a bit. I’m so sorry, she says, so sorry to have to tell you this, but Rugs Rugs Rugs has been lost to the moss. You turn in the direction of RUGS RUGS RUGS & see a great tidal wave of moss flowing down Broadway. The wave of moss moves slowly in comparison to a wave of water, but quickly in comparison to how moss typical grows, inching forward covering everything, obliterating all the buildings & streets & cars into moss. You walk to the trashcan & dump the flyers into it. You are deeply disappointed, not by the moss—the encroaching moss is inevitable—but by the fact that those rugs you loved so much are no more, all those wonderful variations & unique styles all now just moss. The judge gestures to you. Come with me, she say. I know a place that is safe from the moss. You follow the judge away from the imminent tidal wave of moss, off Broadway & back into the alley behind the tire shop, to an unmarked steel door. Inside, your eyes adjust to the dim light. Slowly you see that this is a secret space, a kind of speakeasy, the people clad in fancy clothes. On a small stage in a corner, actors in child-like costumes pantomime plays for the crowd. A person in a tree costume battles a man in a lumberjack costume, who holds a felt chainsaw. As the pantomimed fight reaches its end, the tree coming from behind to defeat the lumberjack, the judge takes her robe off & dons a zebra costume. She tosses you an ostrich costume. Go ahead, she says. Put it on. We’re up next.
