Point Of View – World premier of volume V
Point of view is a semester-based program bringing together teens from across the greater Denver area. Throughout the program, teens come together weekly at MCA Denver to connect with each other through contemporary art and ideas. This semester participants explored how our constructed environments impact our identities. They worked collaboratively to produce a zine that represents themselves and their observations of the world.
Failure Lab – Hall Of Shame
An exhibition created by MCA Denver’s Teen Program: Failure Lab with Hardly Soft
For this exhibition, participants in Failure Lab* worked with artist-duo Hardly Soft, which started in 2018, as a collaboration featuring Amber Cobb and Mario Zoots. Together they explore themes of triumph and the physical markers that identify a winner. The resulting exhibition, Hall Of Shame, is the documentation of their weekly experiments and discovery.
*Failure Lab is a museum-led leadership program for sixteen Denver-area high school students. Participants work with artists, museum staff, and their peers to organize exhibitions, plan events, and develop programming. Rather than focusing on achievement, Failure Lab is dedicated to developing creativity, becoming a place where the risk of failure is always a possibility.
