MCA Denver presented Google Street Ghosts, an exhibition of work by Paolo Cirio for Denver's Month of Photography. Cirio used life-sized pictures of people found on Google's Street View, posting them to the exterior of buildings at the same spot where they were taken.
Paolo Cirio was born in 1979 in Turin, Italy. His work has been exhibited at Tate Modern, London; C/O Berlin; Museum für Fotografie, Berlin; Münchner Stadtmuseum, Munich; Musée National d'Histoire et d'Art of Luxembourg; Haifa Museum of Art, Israel; International Kunstverein Luxemburg; ICP Museum, New York; Somerset House, London; Utah MoCA; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; MAK, Vienna; Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro; and Seoul Museum of Art, among others. Cirio has won a number of awards, including Golden Nica first prize at Ars Electronica, Linz; Transmediale second prize, Berlin; Eyebeam Fellowship; and the NEA grant at ISCP, New York.
