From the Artist
"Peace and love, my name is Devin "Speaks" Urioste. I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I come from many different communities and really embody my city as a home. My work speaks to a couple of different values that I hold close and those are to represent my community, stay true to my culture, forever seek knowledge, and use my knowledge as a tool to facilitate critical thinking in my community. I have been an educator and facilitator for the past 8 years, and being an educator has taught me how to value others ideas, thoughts, and emotions. I want my visual work to reflect beauty from all different angles. I would like it to make people wonder and ask questions about themselves and others as well. I would like to take any opportunity to expand my knowledge of my community and also those communities around me."
