If you've never started a sentence, "So, I'm listening to this podcast ..." then your life is about to change. And if you have, then get excited to Shut Up & Listen! This new Spring Event Series will celebrate the art of live storytelling, add in some comedy, and combine it with a live podcast taping in our very own cafe. And while learning stuff is great and everything, laughing your ass off is important too, which is why we're bringing in local comedians to do their thing. You'll walk out of the event feeling smarter yet can still use LMAO in your status updates.

Join us, March 9, for our first live taping of Denver's local podcast, Behind the SceneBehind the Scene is produced and hosted by Shon Cobbs and is dedicated to capturing the independent artist's story in a unique, casual, and intimate setting to artists and their story and proving those stories are integral to a thriving arts scene.

After the taping, comedians Miriam Moreno & Timmi Lasley will take the stage to do their thing.

Miriam Moreno is a Denver comedian, born in Mexico she lends an original voice to the scene. You can catch her all around town and co-producing her own comedy show called Comedy Super Jam at Mutiny Info Cafe every last Friday of the month!

Timmi Lasley is a constant promoter of the Denver independent comedy scene, Timmi Lasley is the creator and manager of The Comedy RoomRoom, an intimate venue which is home to some of Denver’s most popular indie shows. She is the producer of the Denver edition of the national annual comedy show 50 First Jokes, as well has having been invited to perform at Altercation Fest, CROM Comedy Fest, The Underground Music Showcase, and all 5 years of the High Plains Comedy Festival. She was winner of the Comedy Works 2015 Funny Final Four competition, which gave her a chance encounter sharing the stage co-hosting with Dave Chappelle. Dave was heard to say "B**** can DANCE!*" both on and off the mic that night, which - though not technically a credit - has been the highlight of her career thus far. (*It should be noted he did not mean her actual dancing skills, but was nodding to her comedic prowess.) She's opened for Kyle Kinane, Nick Vatterot, Sean Patton, Dean Edwards and Gina Brillion. She has become an accomplished storyteller and can be seen hosting Denver's Moth Story Slam, or writing and producing original plays.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Street parking is limited. The garage directly across 15th street is $5 after 4pm. Please don't drive if you plan on drinking.

What if I'm really really thirsty before the event?

Good news for you because happy hour starts at 5PM (and goes until 7PM)  and since the event takes place in the cafe, you can chug responsibility throughout the show.

Can I check out the galleries and cafe before or after the event?

Totally. Your ticket gets you access to the entire museum, so do it up right.
