MCA Denver and DeadRoom Comedy presents Colorado Native, a Native comedy show with local and national Indigenous comedians.
Colorado Native is one of the only Native American comedy showcases in the country and it is built on a simple premise: Natives are funny. DeadRoom Comedy brings the best in Indigenous comedic talent from all over Turtle Island for a night of gut busting and culture sharing. Featuring host Joshua Emerson (Navajo) and comedians Siena East (Choctaw), Evan Johnson (Comanche), and Elliot Weber (token white). Come out and see some of the funniest Indigenous people in the world!
About the Performers
Joshua Emerson (Navajo) is a Dine’ (Navajo) comedian, writer, and actor based in Denver, Colorado. He is the Co-Chair of the Denver American Indian Commission, the Jumbotron Host for the Colorado Mammoth, and a founding member of the award-winning comedy troupe and production company, DeadRoom Comedy. Joshua has been selected for the High Plains Comedy Festival, Albuquerque Funny Fiesta, Big Pine Comedy Festival, and the Denver Fringe Festival. He has been featured in multiple outlets including Boulder Weekly, WestWord, and the Denver Post. Joshua is the Managing Director of Creative Nations, a Native American arts collective and lives at home with his dog, Lola.
Siena East (Choctaw) is a Choctaw comedian, writer and actress who is based in Los Angeles. She has written on MAX’s reboot of Clone High, performed at the Hollywood Improv, and can currently be seen acting in the latest season of The Sex Lives of College Girls on HBO Max. Siena currently co-hosts the cult backyard stand up show, Full Hog, which is very cool, obviously.
Evan Johnson (Comanche) is Denver comedian with a quick wit and voted Best Hair in the Denver Comedy Scene three years running. He dazzles audiences with his silky, smooth, well conditioned comedy stylings.
Elliot Weber (token white) is a Denver based comic who captures the audience with his genuine manner, vulnerable humor, and timely jokes. He discusses family, college, working service industry, and discovering his unique sexuality. Elliot has been booked to work with Ron Lynch, Costaki Economopoulos, and Bobcat Goldthwait. He performs at festivals across the country including the Big Pine Comedy Festival, Four Corners Comedy festival and the Laughed Out Queer Comedy Festival.
