The holiday season is cheesy, but like, in the best possible way. We give gifts to our loved ones, we sing Mariah Carey at the top of lungs, we watch Netflix movies that we would never usually watch (usually about a tennis-shoes-wearing, everyday gal who falls in love with a prince in the snow in a made-up country), and we eat lots and lots of queso.

Okay, so maybe the queso eating isn't something you associate with the holiday season (yet), but we plan to change that. This year for Colorado Gives Day (December 10) we invite you to join MCA Denver and eat all the queso with us and our friends from Illegal Pete's as a way of supporting the museum.

Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado. On Tuesday, December 10, you can donate to MCA Denver on the Colorado Gives Day website, or you can get cheesy with us at our Cheesiest Costume Contest at Illegal Pete's in LoDo. Dress up in your cheesiest costume, take hilarious photos in our gif photo booth, and know that 50% of all purchases made at Illegal Pete's from 5PM to 11PM will be donated directly to MCA Denver. Plus, we will be offering a free Tito’s cocktail to anyone who makes a straight monetary donation to the organization of $5.

All costume participants will WIN a high five from an MCA Denver staff member and WIN the wonderful prize of that fuzzy feeling you get when you help out your favorite museum.
