MCA Denver’s Ambassador program is now POV, aka Point of View. Same focus, new name.
POV is a semester-long, paid internship for high school students in the Denver area, with a focus on exploring, creating, and sharing contemporary ideas. Together participants represent a diverse group of teens and experiences. They are outgoing, curious, and committed to creating vibrant spaces for their peers. While in the program we encourage participants to take risks, engage with museum professionals, interact with their peers and community, and explore all things MCA Denver. Throughout the semester participants will work together to produce a zine focused on teen happenings in and around MCA Denver. They are also responsible for planning a release event to celebrate the completion of their publication. POV is a space to explore new concepts, highlight exciting ideas, and create and share original content.
Deadline November 25, 2018
WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet every Tuesday at the museum from 4:30-6:30PM, beginning February 19, 2019.
HOW MUCH DO I GET PAID?
Each person in the program is eligible to receive up to a $300 award for their participation.
DO I HAVE TO BE GOOD AT ART?
No, you don’t have to be an artist, or “good” at art to participate in this program. We look for teens who love to be creative, and have an interest in contemporary art.
SO WHAT DO WE ACTUALLY DO IN THIS PROGRAM?
You’ll get to know the museum in a deeper context, work with your peers to come up with zine themes, create content for the zine using 2D & digital methods, layout the zine, plan an event, visit other creative spaces, and eat snacks!
