WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR UPCOMING FOOD DRIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES

...and we need your help ensuring the delivery of food to communities in need.

MCA Denver is proud to announce our upcoming food drive partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies and we need your help ensuring delivery of food to communities in need.

In 2020, the Food Bank of the Rockies distributed more than 100 million pounds of food, which is 43% more than the food they distributed in the previous year. This April, we are partnering with the Food Bank of the Rockies to raise additional funds and donations to support families in need during these challenging times and we are asking members to help out by donating during our first-ever virtual and in-person food drive!

Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest private hunger-relief organization in Colorado and Wyoming. Founded in 1978, their organization provides food and essentials to people in need across 30 counties in northern Colorado and the entire state of Wyoming. In collaboration with more than 800 hunger relief partners, they work together to ensure more than 850,000 people in our service area struggling with food insecurity have access to nutritious food. Food Bank of the Rockies has seen a tremendous increase in need across Colorado and Wyoming as a result of COVID-19. 1 in 7 people and 1 in 5 children face food insecurity in Colorado. And 1 in 6 people and 1 in 4 children are facing food insecurity in Wyoming. 96.5% of their total contributions are directly invested in programs. Their monthly food distribution volume has increased by 50% over the same period last year, with some months more than 80% over pre-COVID-19 levels. Right now, they’re distributing enough food to provide more than 250,000 meals daily.

During this month of April, we are asking our MCA Denver community to give if you are able to help support their efforts and provide meals to families in need. There are two ways you can help us distribute food to Coloradans in need:

  1. From April 1 - 15 art lovers like you can visit the museum and drop off non-perishable items to the front desk during your visit that will be delivered to the Food Bank of the Rockies. Food Bank of the Rockies gladly accepts all non-perishable food items and non-glass containers are preferred. Here are some examples of items that make great donations:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Pasta
  • Canned Tuna
  • Canned Ham
  • Canned Beef Stew
  • Chili Baked Beans
  • Soup
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Jelly
  1. If you are unable to visit us in person, you can still help by clicking the button below and making a donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies which will allow them to purchase more food in bulk and be able to provide food based on the greatest items of need. No donation is too small and even $1 can help provide up to four meals for families in need.

As an additional incentive, anyone who brings in a donation to the front desk or emails their virtual donation receipt to membership@mcadenver.org will receive a code for $10 off a membership to MCA Denver. It’s just one more way we would like to say thank you for your support!
