Teen Workshop with Alejandra Abad

Text

MCA Denver’s teen workshops center around creativity more broadly. Rather than learning a specific art making skill, like beginner ceramics or oil painting 101, teens dive into broader creative practices and subject matters.

Visual artist Alejandra Abad, who has a penchant for dense, fantastical landscapes and abstract shape, led a workshop involving cyanotype prints and stop-motion animation. Alejandra’s approach to art involves conceptual and collaborative projects that work to break down the barriers between artist and audience.

Check out this whimsical and dynamic video of the animations (and the narrative in both the individual and collective animation) that the teens created!
