Meet the Teens Who Curated the Next Octopus Initiative Lottery
The next Octopus Initiative lottery is an extra special one, as the artworks included have been curated by four teens from our Teen Leadership Programs.

My name is Josie Abramson, and I am a senior in high school. Next fall I will be a freshman at Tufts University studying Science, Technology and Society. I have interned at MCA for the past two years and have greatly enjoyed my time in the community. At the moment, my favorite artist is Henri Matisse, specifically his odalisque paintings from the 1920’s. In my free time, I love to read, hike, ski, draw, and visit coffee shops

I’m currently a sophomore in High School. I first worked with MCA for a screen-printing summer workshop and then as an intern for MoxieMag. My art style isn’t really consistent, and I’ve tried lot of different mediums. I’ve dabbled in ceramics, pencil, animation, and a bunch of other things. One of the things I love about art is how versatile it is. I also love to watch movies and read; I find the media I consume influences my art a lot.

Mi nombre el Josie Abramson, y soy estudiante de último año de preparatoria. El próximo otoño seré estudiante de licenciatura en la Universidad Tufts en el programa de Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad. He realizado una pasantía en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Denver durante los últimos dos años y he disfrutado mucho mi tiempo con la comunidad. En este momento, mi artista favorito es Henri Matisse, especialmente por sus pinturas de odalisca de la década de 1920. En mi tiempo libre, me gusta leer, las caminatas, esquiar, dibujar y visitar cafeterías.

Actualmente soy estudiante de segundo año de preparatoria. Trabajé en un inicio en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Denver en un taller de verano de serigrafia y después como pasante en MoxieMag. Mi estilo artístico no es muy consistente, y he intentado varios medios distintos. He experimentado con cerámica, lápiz, animación y algunas otras cosas. Una de las cosas que me gusta del arte es lo versátil que es. También me gusta ver películas y leer; me parce que los medios que consumo influencian mucho mi arte.
