It's a Bird, It's Plane, It's a Blog

Kelly O'Connell

We know what you might be asking yourself, “Why does an art museum need a blog?” Well, believe it or not, we think of ourselves as more than just a building with art hanging on the walls. Sure, we are very passionate about that art on the walls (and floor and ceiling), and we believe in the power it has in our lives. But we also understand that we are a place that cultivates conversation, exploration, new ideas, and different ways of thinking in our city, and one way to go further into that discovery is this blog right here.

Don’t tell anyone, but our grand scheme and fundamental goal at MCA Denver is to integrate into your life (yeah you) and ultimately enhance it in a real authentic way. Whether that be with the art we show, the lectures we host, the dance parties we throw, the Instagrams we post, or perhaps this blog you read.

The MCA Blog will have a variety of contributors, covering a multitude of topics ranging from art, art practices, and artists to contemporary ideas and goings-on that will give you all the chitter chatter that you’ll need to make you look smart at your next dinner party. And, of course, we’ll also have some nonsensical funny weirdness for you. Once a week, plan to get your quick fix of weird, giggly, risky, maybe even inspiring information you didn't even know you wanted to know.

We envision this being a two-way street. We’ll share things with you, and then you’ll read them, maybe LOL, or share it with your friends, and/or tell us other things you are seeing going down now.

You in?
