Celebrate Black History Month: MCA Staff share their Influential Creators

During the month of February, we join in honoring the experiences, achievements, contributions and sacrifices made by Black/African Americans in this country. The influence of Black/African American artists have indelibly shaped our culture and our approach to creativity. In celebration of Black History Month, we asked our staff to share creators, throughout the month, that have impacted their lives and imprinted the cultural experience in America.

Vibrant painting of the profile of two wide-eyed lemurs, one looks like a baby lemur and is laying on the other lemur’s back, looking directly at the viewer. Their technicolor coats are warm shades of pink, orange and yellow with patches of sky blue and gray. They are in front of a backdrop of bright yellow and streaks of lime green, suggesting a lush, subtropical environment.

Mixed Taste Lecture is Back for a Winter Edition

Two speakers get 20 minutes each to enlighten you on unrelated topics, selected by a guest curator for the first time: Mixed Taste fan-favorite lecturer Adrian Miller. After the speaking portion, ideas start to blend when audience members ask questions and anything goes.

This is our second edition of Mixed Taste presented virtually, so you can tune in from any device anywhere in the world. Mixed Taste: Still At Home will only be a three-part series, so don't miss out on this wildly popular program.
