Failure Lab is a yearlong internship that gives high school interns the opportunity to learn through failure, play, experimentation, and art creation. 

The fall semester is dedicated to working alongside an artist in the Denver metro area to produce an exhibition of work inspired by the guest artist’s compositional knowledge and the teens’ collective vision. The spring semester revolves around planning, developing, and curating a teen art exhibition curated by the teens as they learn from museum staff in various departments.

Failure Lab is a school-year long program that meets in-person every Wednesday from 4:30 – 6:30PM. Applications open May through June for the following school year. Interns in Failure Lab earn up to $300/​semester for their participation.

Call for teen artists

We are seeking to create a space in the art world for high school students where they can be authentically themselves and grow through expression. All mediums are accepted for this exhibition. Submit now through March 3, 2025!
