Suki Seokyeong Kang’s (b. 1977, Seoul) research-driven practice spans across media, incorporating sculpture, painting, video, installation, and performance, as she investigates the power of politics of space. The different media cross-pollinate in Kang’s works, as sculptures in the space appear and are carefully activated in her videos of performances. Her work often incorporates Korean handwoven mats called ​“hwamunseok”, breathing fresh life into the traditional local craft.
