Here is what she had to say about her design:

“Rooted, inspired by the blueprint, Black People. This portrait captivates the essence of what Black people bring to the culture, which is style. I added a layer of softness, something we don’t always get to show, by including a flow of flowers. Small details were added to highlight my love of being Black in Denver, such as the wording in the ​“stars” mentioning the historical black neighborhood Five Points. The piece over all captures my style as an artist, which is showing the vibe of the alternative black kid by designing unique designs.”

The Call For Artists is an annual initiative to spotlight and give platform to underrepresented and developing artists in our community. 

Winning artists receive compensation for their design as well as commission from t‑shirt sales.
