Thief Among Thieves
May 14 – June 28, 2015
Thief Among Thieves is a group exhibition featuring the work of more than twenty artists working in a broad range of styles and media whose work speaks to the current moment in both art history and contemporary life. Rather than surveying a single theme, the exhibition instead surveys the multiple directions and contradictory forces in art today. The title suggests that even though artists today have always taken from the past and the world around them, they do so today in a permissive environment, which embraces the interplay between all variety of creative activities, past and present.
Thief Among Thieves will be presented on the second floor of MCA Denver in the Natasha Congdon Gallery, Vicki & Kent Logan Promenade Space, Joseph Crescenti Family Gallery, and the Mary Caulkins & Karl Kister Gallery. This exhibition is co-organized by Nora Burnett Abrams and Adam Lerner.
