One of Britain's leading contemporary architects, David Adjaye's building designs reflect inspirations collected from travels around the world and from collaborations with artists like Olafur Eliasson and Chris Ofili. Familiar with the artistic process, Adjaye brings this sensitivity to the design of his first contemporary art museum , the new MCA DENVER. He contributes to the contemporary dialogue about social space and urban landscape through work that explores light, scale, measurement and material.
David Adjaye was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1966 and currently lives and works in London. He received a BA from South Bank University, London, United Kingdom and an MArch from Royal College of Art, London, United Kingdom. Making Public Buildings is his first major exhibition and has been produced by Whitechapel Gallery, London, United Kingdom in collaboration with MCA DENVER, CO; The Studio Museum in Harlem, NY; and the Netherlands Architecture Institute, Maastricht; as well as Arario Gallery, Beijing, China and Arario Gallery, Seoul, Korea.
Sponsored in part by the American Institute of Architecture, Denver Chapter.

MCA DENVER has been conceptualized as an incubator of ideas in motion. We ask you for your answers whether subversive, controversial, enticing, or thoughtful. Your responses are part of our open platform. As a Museum Without a Front Door, we extend that same idea with this invitation for your imagination to go global - What's It to You?
