Huevos Rancheros: Art + Architecture + Literature
Huevos Rancheros is a lecture series showcasing innovation in contemporary Mexican art, architecture, and literature. This program series is curated and hosted by exhibiting artist Jorge Méndez Blake (Guadalajara), whose exhibition Project for a Park Library (Aerial View Large) is on view at MCA Denver from April 25–July 13, 2014.
Lectures will be in English.

Artist Jorge Méndez Blake discusses his exhibition at MCA Denver, which imagines a library as an open space, as well as past work and literature that has inspired it. He will be joined by MCA Denver curator Nora Burnett Abrams.

Artist Talk on Ulises Carrión
Artist Carlos Ranc (Mexico City) discusses The New Art of Making Books, the manifesto of artist Ulises Carrión. Carrión died in obscurity in Amsterdam in 1989, but was widely rediscovered in 2002 and is today considered one of Mexico's most important conceptual artists.

Architect and Cartoonist Comic Jam
Architect Sergio Ortiz (Guadalajara) is joined by cartoonist JIS (Guadalajara) for a "comic jam." Ortiz will discuss how architecture varies from city to city and how houses represent the style of life of a given region. JIS will illustrate Ortiz's talk with imporvised cartoons.
