Join us for an afternoon and evening music festival at MCA Denver on May 12.

This all day, all ages festival includes musical performances in MCA Denver's fire lane.

The Lineup:

-Red Aunts: An all-female punk band that formed in 1991 in Long Beach, California, when Terri Wahl (guitar/vocals) recruited friends Kerry Davis (guitar/vocals), Debi Martini (bass/vocals), and Lesley Ishino (drums).
-The Corner Girls are a pastel punk trio from Denver CO. The three combine fundamentals of punk rock with pop melodies and feminine energy to create their own genre of pastel punk. As their sound evolves, they always stay true to pastel punk: glittery, high energy punk music that’ll get you on your feet.
-Princess Dewclaw: The B-52s meet The Cramps at a late night suburban movie theater playing Ginger Snaps. Princess Dewclaw captures the essence of "now wave" mentality, with thought-provoking storyteller's lyrics and rolling bass.
-R A R E B Y R D $ are a musical outfit who focus on collaborating & empowerment alongside fellow artists. They consist of fierce & fearless talent including Key~Lady & the Front Strangers, KoKo La, Machete Mouth & many others. Their feature collaborator, Machete Mouth, who also fronts Denver acts such as Poor Bodhi & The Maybe So's alongside vocalist Bianca Mikhan, is a powerful vocalist based out of the Queen City with a sonic presence that will both ground you & take you to the stars.
-DJ SnailStar: Starting from the time she could crawl, DJ SnailStar has always been playing music. She started mixing and DJing when she was 8 years old and even got to DJ at Birdseed Collective's 100+.

The backstory on Fem Fest: Continuing the narrative that began with the ten year run of Feminism & Co., Fem Fest presents a multi-faceted event that connects to broader contemporary issues of gender and popular culture, elevating the discourse around women’s issues and creating a welcoming program for both men and women, boy and girls.

Bio: The Red Aunts are an all-female punk band that formed in 1991 in Long Beach, California, when Terri Wahl (guitar/vocals) recruited friends Kerry Davis (guitar/vocals), Debi Martini(bass/vocals), and Lesley Ishino (drums). Their brand of unfiltered music is toxic, taking a sharp claw to every riot grrrl cliché it can shred. After five albums, several years of touring, and a huge fan base, they called it quits in 1998.  Their greatest hits compilation, 'COME UP FOR A CLOSER LOOK' was released on In The Red Records in December 2014; a gatefold sleeve double album, complete with killer art and photos, and liner notes by Red Aunts fan, Sasha Frere-Jones.

Street parking is limited. The garage directly across 15th street is $5 on weekends. Please don't drive if you plan on drinking.

Can I check out the galleries and cafe before or after the event?

Totally. Your ticket gets you access to the entire museum, so do it up right.
